21st Jul 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Despite current economic challenges, Sodexo Remote Sites is bucking the trend and forging new deals with blue-chip oil and gas companies in the North Sea.
The contract catering company says the deals are generating long term sustainable revenues and securing hundreds of new jobs over the next few years. The Aberdeen-based food and facilities management service provider has recently been awarded a string of new contracts across the North Sea - with Amec, Dolphin Drilling, Ensco and Well Ops, worth a combined value of £40m and creating 175 new jobs. Additionally, Sodexo has also recently been awarded contract extensions with companies such as Marathon, Talisman, Ensco, Transocean, Diamond Offshore, Seadrill and Ocean Rig, worth a combined value of £185m – and securing a further 885 jobs for the company. Lindsay Tocher, Sodexo's Senior Vice President, explained: "We are delighted to be achieving such strong results within the current economic challenges by securing such a strong portfolio of business. In the last year we achieved double-digit growth, and 100% client retention. It seems our service that sets us apart from the competition; Sodexo's clients and customers enjoy the best possible quality of life, everywhere in the world. "Further, I believe that there are two clear reasons for our success – we have grasped the economic challenges as an opportunity to work closely with our existing clients in developing innovative solutions to support the long term sustainability of our business; this has been particularly well supported by our staff, who have been fantastic in embracing these challenges. "Secondly we have been successful in growing our new client portfolio based on that strong commitment of working with our clients to develop long term value added solutions to their business."
