As a trusted partner to the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Sodexo supplied around-the-clock services including catering, cleaning and accommodation ahead of and during the official events in London and Windsor.
St Omer barracks in Aldershot provided accommodation for over 600 additional troops taking part in the official proceedings. Sodexo served up to an additional 6,000 breakfasts, 4,000 lunches and 2,200 packed lunches as well as 5,800 dinners included a late evening service for drivers, marshals and security teams.
RAF Halton in Aylesbury and HMNB Portsmouth were also used as bases for personnel involved in the Coronation; RAF Halton hosting 950 and HMNB Portsmouth 116. To cater for the increased personnel numbers, Sodexo brought in extra mobile catering units and extended mealtimes and opening hours of retail outlets.
