Abstract
Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events will cater for Scottish charity, Soldiers Off The Streets Scotland’s (SOTS) 2018 Pegasus Ball next month (4 August).

Taking place at Hampden Park, the annual event will raise funds for a new housing project for veterans who have or face no accommodation when leaving the services.

With an estimated 250 guests thus far, host Rusty Firmin - SAS ‘legend’ and one of the assault team leaders during the 1980 Iranian Embassy Siege in London – joins an impressive line-up of guests speakers.

These include: Stu Pearson QGM, one of the paratroopers who took part in the Kajaki Dam incident; and David Timmons QGM, a former member of the Explosive Ordinance Disposal.

General manager for Sodexo Sports & Leisure at Hampden Park Stadium, Craig Younger, said: “We are delighted to be able to host The Pegasus Ball for SOTS at Hampden Park and look forward to welcoming guests on the evening to raise money for this truly worthwhile cause.

“Our chefs have been working hard to create the menu for the event and we’re pleased to be able to offer this to the charity at a discounted rate.”

Serving a soup entrée, smoked salmon starter, guests will get the choice of either braised steak or chicken and haggis for the main, and a chocolate tart or cranachan cheesecake for dessert.

SOTS said it will donate “half of the money raised towards the new housing project, with the remaining funds allocated to a permanent memorial statue for the Parachute Regiment at Aldershot.”

Tickets cost £75 per person with a discount for serving and ex-Paratroopers as well as tables of 10.

They include a four-course meal and evening entertainment from The Factory Street Jazz Quartet and vocalist Kirstin Weir Stoddart.
