Abstract
A Sodexo team has won a facilities management award for the service that it provides to the British Army at Colchester Garrison.
The team, which works for Sodexo's Defence segment, was awarded in the category of "Partners in FM: Secure Facilities" in the Premises & Facilities Management (PFM) Magazine Awards.
The staff provide a range of support services, including catering, cleaning, administrative support and security services, to 16 Air Assault Brigade, the British Army's rapid reaction force made up of air assault infantry and support troops.
The PFM Magazine Awards, now in their 18th year, recognise best practice in partnering between service suppliers and their clients, as well as the skills and enterprise of people in the sector.
The Partners in FM: Secure Facilities Award pays tribute to partnerships in military, custodial, police and other secure environments in which a range of support services are delivered to staff, residents and inmates in sensitive and potentially hazardous environments.
Colchester Garrison is a private finance initiative (PFI) and, for the PFM Magazine award, Sodexo Defence partnered with its client, RMPA Services plc, which was awarded the contract by the Ministry of Defence to provide first class working and living accommodation for more than 4,700 military and civilian staff at the site.
The Sodexo Defence team and RMPA celebrated their success at the PFM Magazine Awards dinner held on Wednesday 9 November in London.
