The black tie dinner, which took place at London’s Dorchester Hotel, was the “grand finale to (Sodexo’s) year’s fundraising activities for Stop Hunger,” and saw it welcome more than 450 guests.
As well as the evening’s main event – the live auction – Sodexo also “recognised a number of employees for their efforts in supporting the Stop Hunger Foundation” throughout the year.
This included:
- Volunteer Award - Sarah Masson for her #mystophungerpledge campaign
- Most Innovative Fundraising Idea Award - Tim Wright for organising colleagues to take part in the Dunwich Dynamo
- Stop Hunger Day Initiative Award - Rezki Karar for shaving his head and encouraging colleagues to participate in a Regent’s Park run
- Charity Champion Award - Mark Welshman for his “commitment and passion throughout the past two years, raising a significant amount for Stop Hunger”
Sean Haley, Sodexo UK and Ireland region chair, said: “Over the years, Stop Hunger has touched upon thousands of lives and continues to make a difference. I’m delighted how much the Sodexo Foundation has flourished – both internationally and in the UK & Ireland.
“Sodexo aims to make a difference by supporting our local communities, which is at the heart of everything we do and our corporate mission is to improve the quality of life for all our stakeholders.”
The dinner also enlightened guests on how the money raised is spent towards promoting healthy lifestyles, providing food to those in need and supporting charities such as FareShare, SSAFA and The Trussell Trust.
