Abstract
Leadenhall Market is preparing the stage for a six-week showcase of Welsh lamb cooking as its 'The Butcher' venue opens its doors to top chefs who will be creating dishes using the meat.
For six weeks starting on 8 September, chefs will be cooking up worldwide-inspired dishes for city workers using "the freshest Welsh lamb" after getting it "straight from farmer's gates." Each of the six chefs will devise a "unique" dish inspired by the flavours of the world according to their area of expertise. Each week will see a different recipe featured as the "Dish of the Day." Aimed at demonstrating the versatility of Welsh lamb, the dishes will incorporate themed ingredients from Britain, Indian, France, Italy and the Mediterranean. Prepared on The Butcher's grill, the meals promise to offer city workers "a bespoke meal for lunch" as well as the chance to chat to the chefs about their dishes, glean cooking advice to take home enjoy samples of the Welsh lamb. The chef line-up will be announced within the coming weeks.
