The transformation provides modern canteen-style facilities for visitors and staff at the hospital, which has around 260 beds and 1,800 staff on site. Kitchen equipment is situated front of house behind hot food service counters, with self-serve hot drinks and EPOS systems to ensure a better experience for customers.
The updated facilities include Foster refrigeration equipment, Rational combi ovens and Falcon and Lincat cooking equipment.
Dan Halpin, projects manager at Shine Catering Systems, said: “This was a challenging project, but with a great end result for our client. Coordination with all sub-contractors and the hospital was vital, because working efficiently and effectively within the hospital facility was key to getting this project over the line.”
