Abstract
Creed Foodservice's new grab & go concept Kitchen ’72 has been introduced at Sheffield Wednesday football club’s 39,732 capacity Hillsborough Stadium.

The ‘street food inspired’ chicken-based meal solution is quick to serve enabling caterers to serve 15 meals in one minute; equating to 225 over a 15-minute half time period. The concept was developed by Creed Foodservice’s expert team of development chefs, along with Phil Vickery, MBE DL and Celebrity Masterchef winner.

There are three global flavour options – including BBQ, Tex-Mex and Moroccan. Each box features marinated chicken, a tortilla wrap or rice, a side of slaw and a drizzle of sauces. Easy to eat whilst standing up, sitting down or on the go.

Rob Cox, executive chef at Sheffield Wednesday, said: “We regularly welcome thousands of people to our stadium; it can get incredibly busy and there is high demand for our catering outlets.

“Not only is having a strong mix of food options important, but the actual hospitality operation has to run smoothly. We need to be able to serve customers quickly, keep the flow of people moving and cater to all tastes. Kitchen ’72 is a perfect solution for us.”

The Kitchen ’72 concept has already been trialled in various schools up and down the country, serving hundreds of students at lunch time.
