Abstract
The School Food Trust has partnered with The Children's Food Trust to share its vision – to provide children with a balanced diet, cooking skills and food education they need to reach their full potential.
The Children's Food Trust will have its formal launch at a Children's Food Conference on 7th March 2012, where speakers including Sir Michael Marmot and Dame Clare Tickell will join delegates to consider key issues facing families, food manufacturers and Government when it comes to helping children to eat well.
Chairman of the School Food Trust Rob Rees said: "Growing demand for our work has led to the creation of the Children's Food Trust and the need to widen our reach. Our years of experience of improving school lunchtimes for children, setting up the country's largest network of healthy school cooking clubs and of leading internationally-recognised research all mean that our support is now in demand on other children's food issues. "What children learn about food as they grow up - right from their very early years through their school career and beyond - has a huge impact for their health, wellbeing and achievement as adults, and so for all of us as taxpayers. There are still far too many ways in which good food is not being used to help children reach their potential, and that's where we know we can help."
The Trust's new venture coincides with office moves for the charity in both Sheffield and London, and new contact details for all staff.
