Abstract
Event catering company, Seasoned, provided a two-course meal for the 20 children at Cancer Research UK’s Kids and Teen Star Awards on 11 July.

The event, which was hosted by the charity and TK Maxx, was held in response to the young cancer patients missing upcoming Christmas festivities due to planned treatments in December. As such, they were presented with an early Christmas comprising of meeting Santa and sitting in his sleigh, gingerbread decorating, bauble making and a faux snow shower. The children were also given an award for their bravery whilst others rang a ceremonial bell to mark the end of their cancer treatment.

Broadcast live on ITV’s This Morning, Seasoned then served the Star Award winners and their families a two-course lunch at Two Temple Palace, of: ‘Snowman Sliders’ mini cheeseburgers and grilled chicken sliders with sweet potato wedges, and pasta with roasted vegetables for vegetarians; followed by the ‘Polar Express’ warm chocolate brownie, marshmallow snowballs, iced snowflakes and vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Managing director at Seasoned, Colin Sayers said: “We couldn’t be more proud to have been selected to cater for a fantastic event that celebrates the children’s’ bravery.

“We made sure our menu was as festive as possible while ensuring that children and adults alike could enjoy our food. We also made sure there was plenty of squash to go around, for good measure!”

Louise Phillips, events manager at Two Temple Place said: “It was our pleasure to welcome Cancer Research UK’s Kids and Teen Star Awards to Two Temple Place. The house was transformed into a Winter Wonderland complete with Santa’s grotto in our library and a snow filled courtyard. We enjoyed every minute and hope that our guests did too."

This is the second time that Seasoned’s catering has appeared on ITV’s This Morning of late, having also catered for a wedding hosted by the show at The Shard.
