Scotland Policy Conferences is to host a keynote seminar to discuss key issues for tackling obesity in Scotland.

The ‘policy priorities for tackling obesity in Scotland’ seminar on Wednesday, February 21st follows the publication of the Scottish Government’s new diet and obesity strategy and physical activity delivery plan.

Chaired by Kenneth Gibson MSP, co-convener of the Cross Party Group of Improving Scotland’s Health, the event will see industry figures, including Elspeth Macdonald, deputy chief executive at Food Standards Scotland, and Sue Davies, chief policy adviser at Which? discuss key issues on obesity.

Areas of discussion at the seminar will include developing evidence-based solutions to tackling obesity, next steps for addressing obesity and challenges of reducing and restricting junk food advertising.
