Hundreds of schools have downloaded The School Food Trust's Royal Wedding-themed poster kits to decorate canteens and promote healthy school menus ahead of HRH Prince William and Kate's wedding next week.
The ready-made kits have already been downloaded by almost 300 users of the Trust's free school food marketing library since its launch in March, whilst Let's Get Cooking – the biggest cooking club network of its kind in the country – has sent packs containing street party recipes and ideas to get families cooking to more than 4,000 member schools.
Director of Let's Get Cooking, David Edwards, said: "There's nothing like cooking to help children understand and remember an event like this, and with street parties happening all over the country, some tasty food will definitely be appreciated! These recipes are tried and tested and are easy to make.
"It's also great to see school canteens using the Royal Wedding to highlight healthy school meals to pupils. Promoting school food is one of the most effective ways to bring new children into the dining room – and to encourage them to keep coming back long after the bunting has come down!"
