The event was held at Cheltenham Racecourse on August 27th and incorporated insights from specialist speakers as well as activities and entertainment all geared towards showing the delegates how integral they are to the school day.
Guest speakers included Stephanie Wood of charity School Food Matters and Lindsay Graham, School Food and Health Advisor.
Stephanie Wood, director of School Food Matters, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to speak at ICON15 as it gave me the opportunity to say a great big thank you to the real school food heroes, ISS' talented school cooks.
“It was particularly pleasing to witness ISS' role of honour; the Headteacher's Award and to celebrate the work of over four hundred dedicated cooks with a shared mission; to nurture school children with freshly prepared and expertly cooked school meals."
As well as preparing the ISS team for the new academic year, ICON15 was also about recognising the delegates for the successful delivery of Universal Infant Free School Meals. Giveaways, photo booths and individual awards and prizes featured throughout the day.
