Abstract
National charity, the Royal Voluntary Service, unveiled its newly transformed ‘Tea & Co’ café at Poole Hospital this week, offering staff, visitors and patients healthier menus and a brand new look.

As part of the organisation’s Healthier Choices programme, it now sells fresh fruit, healthy snacks and lunch options – all prepared and served by 50 trained volunteers.

Olly Young, Royal Voluntary Service retail area manager (south), commented: “We are delighted to open our latest ‘Tea & Co’ café at Poole Hospital.

“We hope that customers and volunteers alike will enjoy spending time there, and that the enhanced menu will prove popular with hospital staff and visitors.

“Our volunteers are amazing and really enjoy what they do. We can’t thank them enough for the support that they provide at the hospital day in, day out.”

Poole Hospital chief operating officer, Mark Mould, added: “We are delighted with how the new café looks and it will continue to provide a much valued service to staff and patients.

“I would like to thank the charity and its volunteers for the enormous contribution they make at the trust."

The Royal Voluntary Service operates 230 volunteer-run shops, cafes and trolley services across the country, with the help of 20,000+ volunteers.
