Rombouts awarded City & Guilds accreditation

23rd Mar 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Rombouts Coffee is now an approved City & Guilds Training Centre, offering the Level 2 award in Barista Skills.
Speaking about their City & Guilds approval, Rob Briggs, managing director, Rombouts said: "Nowadays, it is very often the barista who is first to meet the customer, so training is vital – especially when it comes to espresso, as a good barista can make a good bean great. In addition, with so much concern surrounding the economy, training is key to serving the perfect espresso or cappuccino, which and can make the difference between selling one drink or two, and help win customers from competing outlets. "With this in mind, we are delighted to be able to offer a training facility where people can choose to take a specialist qualification aimed at the barista, which will be recognised around the world." Developed by City and Guilds in conjunction with the Beverage Service Association (BSA), the Barista Skills qualification offers candidates the chance to learn how to create the best beverage experience for the customer. Training is held at the Rombouts Head Office in Berkshire or at the customer's premises, although the City & Guilds assessment has to be taken at the City & Guilds approved Rombouts training centre.
