Abstract
A total of 13 chefs from across the UK have won Knorr Create More’s ‘Ridiculously Versatile’ competition.

Each chef will each take home an iPad Mini and have the chance to see their idea brought to life in a unique film.

Knorr asked chefs to think outside the box and come up with ‘ridiculously versatile’ uses for its fictional chef, Versatility Steve, to put its new Italian Create More Concentrated Sauces to the test.

Using Knorr Create More as a relaxing massage oil and fighting a Greco-Roman wrestler with the sauce were among the winning suggestions.

Launched to celebrate the arrival of the new Knorr Create More sauces, the ‘Ridiculously Versatile’ competition was judged by Jon Bingham and Rob Whitmore, managing directors of pub association PubPal, and pub expert John Porter. The competition saw bizarre suggestions take the top spot, including: putting Versatility Steve in a bath of Knorr Create More to relax with his rubber duck and using the sauce as a deodorant.

The winners were:

Judge Rob Whitmore said: “All the entrants put forward some great ideas, but there could only be 13 winners. I was really impressed by the number of fun and original challenges that people came up with; I wouldn’t have thought of them myself. But, in the end, the most creative ideas won the top spot and I can’t wait to see what the videos look like.”

John Porter, who also helped judge the competition, said: “It’s great that so many chefs took up the challenge and put a lot of thought into their entries; and really imagined what would push Versatility Steve to the limit.”

Leon Mills, category manager for Knorr sauces at Unilever Food Solutions, says: “All entrants showed us their creativity when it came to submitting ‘ridiculously versatile’ suggestions, but the winners went the extra mile and began to tell a story for Versatility Steve to act out.

“But, don’t let Versatility Steve have all the fun. Why not put our Knorr Italian Create More Concentrated Sauces to the test yourself? Log onto our website to get your full-sized jar today.”
