Wren Kitchens has conducted research to find out which nostalgic foods are our favourites.
Wren Kitchens believes ‘food has the power to make us reminisce on some of the best memories from our childhoods, whether it’s going around for dinner at our grandparents, after school or attending a childhood party.’
Scientific research from Taste has shown that specific foods can reinforce cultural and familiar bonds. Therefore, when they’re eaten, you feel more connected with your self-identity and feel comforted by it.
Egg & chips and cheese on toast take the lead with over one in five (22% and 21%) people in the UK voting it as their top choice. Family favourite shepherd’s pie comes in third with 18% and almost one in six Brits (14%) are reminiscent of the classic angel delight.
