Research reveals Bristol as ‘chippy capital’ of UK
Abstract
Research from Betway found that Bristol is the ‘chippy capital’ of the UK after receiving an overall score of 60.6 out of 80, which was ahead of Nottingham (59.8) and London (58.3).

The 'Chippy Capitals' Report conducted by Betway reveals which UK towns and cities are the best locations to visit to enjoy a classic fish and chips. Finishing in the top five ‘chippy capitals’ are Edinburgh in fourth place with 55.6 and Leicester in fifth place with a score of 55.

London had the highest number of fish and chip eateries with 182, followed by Leicester (179), Nottingham (172) and Bristol (149). According to the research, Birmingham was the UK city with the most diverse fish and chip menu with 113 options on average.

Birmingham and Nottingham were the joint highest cities when counting the number of vegetarian-friendly options (46). London had the most ‘Instagrammable’ fish and chips with 3,622 hashtags.
