Other food that made the top 20 were: Yorkshire puddings (36%), Christmas sandwiches (29%), yule log (28%), leaving a carrot for Rudolph and festive flavoured coffee (19%).
A spokesperson for Churchill Insurance, said: “It’s great to see that traditional activities like hanging a stocking still feature in Christmas celebrations alongside more modern traditions such as streaming Christmas specials and Yorkshire pudding on the lunch plate.”
Four in ten (43%) say they have created their own Christmas routine, while 27% admit that they still follow the format that they had when they were growing up.
No matter how you spend the festive period, being with family (77%) is considered the best thing about Christmas, according to the 2,000 Brits surveyed.
