Abstract
A new report by The Compensation Experts has revealed attitudes towards safety in the workplace, with just 39% of hospitality workers feeling their employer took social distancing rules seriously.
The report titled ‘The workplace safety index’ surveyed workers within the hospitality sector, revealing their thoughts and opinions on their place of work.
Despite the efficient distribution of PPE, hospitality workers are concerned about how seriously their employers have taken social distancing, with 61% believing more could be done to tackle Covid.
The report also found that 42% of hospitality workers have suffered a workplace accident despite the industry being perceived as one of the safest. When asked on a scale of 1-ten (ten being very safe) how safe employees feel in the workplace, the average UK hospitality worker said 7.6.
