The recipe, which has been developed for the British Sandwich Association (BSA) on behalf of Bel Foodservice combines melted Leerdammer, smoked bacon, artichokes and sundried tomatoes to create a twist on the classic club sandwich.
The recipe will feature on the BSA’s website dedicated to celebrating the anniversary of one of Britain’s best-loved lunches www.lovesarnies.com as the July ‘Sandwich of the Month’ and is available for operators to download as point-of-sale material to display in their own businesses.
Jean-Christophe said: “I’ve always loved the sandwich; it’s such a simple dish but the possibilities are endless. A really great sandwich can range from a basic ham and cheese baguette, which was one of my favourites as a child, right through to speciality breads combined with gourmet ingredients. The recipe I’ve created for the British Sandwich Association is based on my own personal favourite; the Leerdammer adds a slightly sweet, nutty taste that really complements the sun-dried tomatoes."
