The unit will go on a world tour before being installed at the 500-year-old Hofbräuhaus in Munich at the end of October, one of the city’s oldest beer halls.
The ‘milestone’ unit can easily be identified by the number ‘1,000,000’ printed on its gold, rotary knob, alongside the personalised control panel.
Peter Wiedemann, chief technical officer of Rational AG, described the event as ‘a milestone for Rational’. The company was started by Siegfried Meister in 1973 and has growth significantly since.
Today, it employs more than 1,100 people in Germany and more than 130 million meals are prepared in Rational units every day around the world.
Markus Paschmann, chief sales & marketing officer, added: “We know about four million commercial kitchens across the globe that use our technology to their benefit. A motivating number for us.
“Even though the percentage of kitchens with Rational units is constantly rising, there are still many we wish to inspire with the customer benefit we offer."
