Abstract
Qatar Airways has launched on-board dining services for its flights serving European routes.

The services include newly-designed tableware, in-flight dining menus, cutlery and chinaware to enhance the airline’s on-board experiences.

As part of this initiative, the airline is offering a range of in-flight menu options based on the route destinations including porcini and truffle risotto on Italian routes, as well as Arabic main dishes such as kabsa, biryani and flame-grilled meats on most routes.

Passengers in the business class cabin will be offered warm desserts along with afternoon teas on select routes.

Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar Al Baker said: “Qatar Airways is thrilled to introduce a whole new on-board dining experience that will push the boundaries of premium travel for our esteemed passengers.

“Qatar Airways is collaborating closely with local farms and suppliers to produce products for our specific needs, promoting a ‘farm-to-table’ approach.

“Our in-flight dining menus are designed to align with the four seasons, better incorporating the use of locally-grown produce and tapping into authentic foods of local provenance delivering the very highest international standards.”

In addition, the airline is enhancing on-board dining equipment such as mini condiment grinders used for dispensing ground black peppercorns and Himalayan pink salt, as well as tableware such as linen-lined bread baskets.

To support customers’s dietary choices, the airline is now offering lighter menu options such as fresh crisp salads, woodland berries and warm breakfast oatmeal. Drink options such as cold pressed juice with various flavour combinations are also included.

Passengers can pre-order meal options via the Qatar Airways website and mobile app.
