Public Sector Catering Kitchen unveils demonstration line-up

On the second day of the Public Sector Catering Expo (Wednesday 16 March) Dr Rupy Aujla will be hosting the Public Sector Catering Kitchen.

These sessions aim to showcase the incredible skills of chefs across the public sector, focusing particularly on health and nutrition but also on delivering tasty food on a budget. 

Working in Public Sector Catering poses many challenges to delivering fantastically creative menu’s and dishes, but it is also an amazingly rewarding and satisfying career with loads of career options to suit everyone.

Dr Rupy will also produce one of his quick and extremely healthy dishes, talking about his journey with food to discovering how diet is so important to a healthy body and mind.

The demonstration line-up includes:

  • Rob Chambers, School Chef of the Year 2021
  • Varun Shivdasani, Loughborough University
  • Kevin Carron and Helen McDonough, HM Prison Service
  • Sanish Thomas & Sinto Mulavarickal, NHS Chefs of the Year
  • Aaron Watson, Care Chef of the Year

The chefs will be interviewed as they demo and interact with the audience and other chefs as they chat about their jobs, careers and the food they create. Public Sector Catering has invited hospitality and catering students to the expo so they can find out more about the career options open to them.

The Public Sector Catering Expo, which is free to attend, brings together chefs and caterers from all areas of the public sector, including schools, universities, care homes, prisons, the Armed Forces and catering colleges.

It returns to the foodservice calendar this year with a speaker programme, live cooking demonstrations and more than 100 suppliers.
