PSC will once again hold this week-long event for caterers in schools, hospitals, care homes, universities, prisons and the military to encourage them to include and promote more plant-based dishes across their menus. The popularity of plant-based meals has been driven by concerns about health, the environment and animal welfare.
On Wednesday 13 May PSC will host a webinar asking the question: ‘Is plant-based now an established part of the menu or do we still need to campaign?’
A panel of industry leaders will discuss the role of plant-based food, where it now sits in the 'everyday' menu cycle, demand from consumers and ask the question of whether there is a need for further campaigning. Simon Billing executive director of Eating Better will chair the panel discussion. He will be joined by:
- Andy Jones, chair PSC100 Group
- Nicola Strawther, chief dietetic & catering technician at Nottingham University Hospitals
- Charlie Huson from the Humane Society International
PSC has created a toolkit for caterers to use and promote their activities during Plant-based Week. The toolkit includes facts, tips for adopting a plant-based diet, menu templates and food hero posters for children.
As part of plant-based week, we will also be holding a series of demonstrations which are free to join, and will showcase products, provide ideas and inspiration for offering more plant-based options to your customers.
