Abstract
Youngsters in Hampshire are being offered the chance to take part in a free 10-week healthy living programme run by Havant Borough Council in partnership with MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition…Do it!).
The programme, which starts at the end of this month, aims to get seven to 13 year olds fitter, healthier and happier by changing their attitudes towards food and fitness. It also looks at how the family overall can make lifestyle changes to improve health.
The twice weekly sessions will take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Warren Park Primary School.
Jamie Beaton, MEND programme assistant explained: "This is an excellent opportunity for young people to not only learn about healthier food choices but also to help improve their self-confidence, self-esteem and overall physical fitness whilst having lots of fun.
"The feedback from youngsters who have taken part in previous programmes has been extremely positive."
Anyone wishing to join the MEND Programme or would like more information please contact Jamie Beaton, community development officer on 023 9244 6495.
