Abstract
Two previous winners including The Pantry Catering and Blackpool Catering Services have highlighted the importance of the Public Sector Catering Awards, which recognise the work of individuals, teams and organisations within the sector.

Luke Consiglio is managing director of The Pantry Catering Ltd who won the Contract Caterer of the Year award in 2023.

Speaking about the Awards, which have 16 categories available for nomination, he said: “Awards are just the recognition the team needs. Celebrating the great job they do through awards - external and internal - can help them feel proud of their work and what they have achieved.”

Derek Wright is catering services manager at Blackpool Council who were named the winners of the Education Catering Award in 2023. He added: “I think it is important to regularly enter awards as it boosts staff morale, keeping the team motivated and passionate about their work.

“Awards also allow the team to be recognised nationally, which provides us with opportunities to grow further, which means we can continue to provide a high-quality service. Awards are a team-effort and it is incredibly rewarding to see the pride on staff’s faces when we are shortlisted/winners of awards.”

The Public Sector Catering Awards will return to the Hilton London Metropole on Thursday 4th April 2024. Nominate here.
