Abstract
Prestige Scotland has secured a contract with Discovery Point, part of the Dundee Heritage Trust, to provide catering, retail and hospitality services.
The five year contract, which commenced at the beginning of April sees Prestige Scotland providing services to the venue's day visitor restaurant, offering freshly baked products and locally sourced produce to the 2,000 visitors that pass through the venue each week. In addition to this Prestige Scotland will provide hospitality for large, corporate events at Discovery Point, and catering for the 30 Discovery Point employees. Discovery Point is an award-winning attraction that transports visitors to Antarctica, telling the tale of the heroic voyage of Captain Scott and his brave crew who spent two winters in Antarctica. Visitors are also welcomed on board RRS Discovery to learn about the expedition from Dundee to Antarctica and back. Austin Tilsley, regional director for Prestige Scotland said: "This is an exciting development for Prestige Scotland, opening up a new market in Dundee. We are also in final discussions with another major Dundee venue that will give Prestige Scotland a new hub of business and one that can support our other venues in the area, such as Glamis Castle and Perth Racecourse." Mark Munsie, operations director, Dundee Heritage Trust, said: "We are delighted that Prestige Scotland has taken over the catering contract at Discovery Point. We believe that, by working in collaboration, we will deliver both a high quality service in our restaurant and also provide top end catering for our corporate clients. The reputation of Prestige Scotland speaks for itself and we anticipate this will be an exciting and fruitful partnership."
