The UK Government’s recent roadmap announcement fell short of guaranteeing a timeline of relaxing lockdown measures and it was unclear whether international visitors would have been allowed to attend.
Jonathan Morley, managing director of Plant Based Global, said: "The move is welcomed and supported by everyone in the plant-based sector and the wider food industry.
“The new show dates will allow millions more people to be vaccinated against Covid-19 and only builds further anticipation for the in-person events we all miss so much, which will showcase the latest and greatest plant-based products.
“We all want to reconnect in person with our suppliers, buyers, guests, investors, friends, and colleagues - and meet new contacts. To do that with confidence and respect for everyone’s safety is paramount.”
Attendees will be able to taste products, ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of the benefits of introducing plant-based foods into their menus.
Jessica Booth, NPD project manager at Meatless Farm, which will be exhibiting at the European show, added: “We’re super excited to be at Plant Based World Expo Europe 2021 and are happy the team moved it to the new dates in October as restrictions relax.
“We can’t wait to connect with new, and current, buyers as the industry picks back up after the last year and the mainstream demand for plant-based options continues to increase!”
