Novo Farina achieves AA food safety certification
Abstract
Novo Farina has been awarded grade AA certification against the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety, becoming the first company to complete the issue nine audit that launched on 1st February 2023.

Using their East Anglian grown yellow peas, Novo Farina have ‘pioneered’ a range of texturised vegetable proteins and ambient ingredient essentials that deliver ‘taste, convenience and versatility’, when used in a wide range of applications across food service and catering.

Chris Harrison, managing director of Novo Farina, said: “To have been awarded the highest grading possible, by following a strict set of quality, safety and operating principles, is a huge achievement for the British manufacturer of texturised pea protein and free from ingredients.

“This was a major team effort; Novo Farina have worked tirelessly over the past year to develop and apply a set of leading production standards and core competencies in food safety culture at our new manufacturing facility.”

The Novo Farina range includes gluten and soya free TVP, protein enhancing ingredients, flour and panko crumb which are all made from 100% yellow peas.

Emily Williams, commercial director at Novo Farina, added: “As a young business, this certification showcases our commitment to providing the very best in British food manufacturing and progression in our field of plant-based ingredients and texturised vegetable protein extrusion. It demonstrates a leading standard and quality assurances to our existing and future customers.”
