In this new position, Pickup takes overall responsibility for corporate responsibility, sustainability, public affairs and communications across the UK & Ireland.
Prior to joining Compass, Pickup spent a decade lobbying government and regulators in the energy and telecoms sectors. He has been working for Compass since 2006 and spent the last five years in operational management roles within the contractor’s healthcare business, first as an operations director and then as business excellence director.
Ian Sarson, group managing director for Compass UK & Ireland, said Pickup brought a wealth of strategic and operational experience to the role.
