Abstract
Peter's, one of the UK's leading bakers of pies, pasties, rolls and slices, is pledging its support behind the Pink Ribbon Foundation with the launch of a Limited Edition Pink Pie.
The Pink Pie will be made available for the Pink Ribbon charity tournament at the South West Snooker Academy, which takes place from the 3rd – 5th June, with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Awareness.
Clare Morgan, marketing controller for Peter's, said: "Peter's has always supported the SWSA and the sport of snooker in general, but the Pink Ribbon tournament presents a fantastic opportunity to help a great cause.
"Although this is a limited edition product, we know that people have a lot of affection for our pies and we've taken it very seriously. There has been a lot of speculation about this and those who get their big break and the chance to taste the Limited Edition Pink Pie will realise what all the fuss is about.
"We've combined our award winning pie know-how and famous melt in your mouth pastry with a beguiling touch of pure opulence. I'm sure our fans will be tickled pink."
Academy owner Paul Mount added: "It's an important tournament for me because I lost my sister to breast cancer at 39.
"We'll have 40 professionals competing here as well as about 150 amateurs." He added: "The place will be buzzing and it'll be a good atmosphere, just as it was last year."
The 2010 event marked the opening of the academy, in Gloucester, and raised over £6,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness.
