Abstract
The People 1st Apprenticeship Awards shortlist has been announced ahead of the London ceremony at the end of the month.

The awards are designed to recognise outstanding apprentices as well as the contribution of employers, providers and mentors that promote and deliver apprenticeships.

Apprentices from the hospitality industry have been nominated including, Eleanor De Maria from Compass Group UK and Ireland, Luke Breslin from The Little Gloster restaurant, Beth Mrvic from Harvester Timberdine (M&B).

Compass Group UK & Ireland, KFC GB and Portsmouth Pubs have been shortlisted for the employer award and Harrison Catering and HIT Training have been shortlisted for the partnership award.

Simon Tarr, People 1st managing director, said: “It’s fantastic to read so many inspiring stories and how beneficial apprenticeship programmes really are for both apprentices and employers. These awards offer us an opportunity to celebrate those who show real commitment and dedication to apprenticeship delivery in our sector.

““The Apprenticeship Awards are part of our ongoing commitment toward Apprenticeships.  As we continue to manage trailblazers across the sector we are supporting the government’s commitment to increase the quality of apprenticeships through new employer driven standards.

“These new standards will not only increase the robustness of apprenticeship in our sector, but also develop new and exciting career progression and opportunity in the industry.”

The winners will be announced at an exclusive event at the House of Commons in London on February 26th 2015. The full shortlist can be found here: http://www.people1st.co.uk/Apprenticeship-Awards
