Sara Edwards, group human resources director at Tragus Group and Geoffrey Harrison, chairman of Harrison Catering, have each been appointed to the board.
David Fairhurst, chair of People 1st, said that he was delighted with the addition of the new trustees, as their sector knowledge and experience will play an important role in helping People 1st meet industry’s needs.
“Sara has extensive experience as a board-level HR professional, especially around employee engagement, business transformation, creating value-based cultures, talent retention and driving world-class service.
“Geoffrey’s wealth of knowledge and experience will prove a fantastic addition to our board. The fact that he has worked across all aspects of operational management and business development within contract catering will provide us with unique insights into this industry and help ensure we’re representing the interests of our sector to the best of our ability.”
With the appointment of Edwards, People 1st is in a unique position in the hospitality industry, with two of HR Magazine’s Top 30 Most Influential HR Practitioners on its board.
