Abstract
TRG Concessions is working in conjunction with Heathrow airport on a new app, allowing consumers to pre-order food and drink at seven of its restaurants there.

Enabling passengers to order, pay, check turnaround times and collect from their chosen restaurant, the service will be available at Giraffe, Giraffe STOP, Wondertree, Comptoir Libanais, Prince of Wales, The Market Gardener, and The Curator. Each will have a dedicated point where orders come through to a tablet, which allows staff to communicate with customers directly.

Nick Ayerst, managing director at TRG Concessions said: “TRG Concessions has an on-going commitment to providing guests with customisable, high quality food in a timely fashion.

“Partnering with Grab and Heathrow allows us to incorporate industry leading technology and innovation into our food service operations. We believe this partnership will lead to improved customer convenience, satisfaction and increased guest participation in our sites.”

Available through the Heathrow Airport Guide app, TRG Concessions is the first to trial the pre-order service, which has been created by Heathrow in partnership with US provider Grab.

Ben Crowley, head of food and beverage at Heathrow said: We’re delighted with the results of the extensive trials we have conducted with TRG Concessions and Grab.  We are very happy to be rolling out the service across all terminals. This is the latest move in our service proposition as we continue to put passenger experience at the heart of our airport operations”

Chief experience officer at Grab, Jeff Livney added: “We are excited to partner with London Heathrow Airport and its award-winning food & beverage programme with our expansion into the UK.

“We share Heathrow’s commitment to ‘making every journey better’ and look forward to providing a seamless takeaway experience for busy Heathrow travellers on the go.”
