29th Sep 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Ethical food specialists Pabulum has won a four year contract to provide catering at the Calthorpe School in Fleet, Hampshire.
Pabulum beat off stiff competition from a number of much larger national competitors, including Eden, to secure the right to deliver its message of 'fresh food, freshly made' to over 1,000 children at the mixed comprehensive school in Hampshire. Part of The Quarr Group, a three-strong team from Pabulum will focus on serving a selection of hot and cold Fairtrade, organic and locally sourced produce throughout the day. Jonathan Gawthrop, managing director of Pabulum, commented on the deal: "We're thrilled that our message of 'fresh food, freshly made' has been heard above that of our big name corporate rivals by the management at Calthorpe School and our staff are already busy showing pupils what Pabulum has to offer." Pabulum already has extensive experience of working in the educational sector, serving meals to among others include Cranford Park Primary School, Hillingdon; Commonweal Primary School, Swindon; Coombe Girls School, Surrey; The Isle of Wight Council and Highdown School, Reading. It also supplies tailor-made foods services to firms such as the Body Shop in West Sussex.
