Abstract
MITIE, the strategic outsourcing company, has announced it has acquired a 51% stake in Creativevents, which provides catering, retail cafes and bars, hospitality, fine dining, conference and banqueting and ‘pop-up’ catering services to clients in the events, exhibitions and culture & heritage markets.

Allister Richards, managing director for MITIE’s (Management Incentive Through Investment Equity) catering business, predicts a strong future for the new partnership, commenting: "There is huge synergy between the two companies. Creativevents has a superb reputation for offering creative and flexible solutions at the premium end of the event catering market.

“When you look at the combined talent and credentials of our two teams and the broader skills set of MITIE as a whole, we will offer an unbeatable proposition to the market."

Creativevents clients include the Earls Court, Olympia and ExCeL exhibition centres, Brooklands Motor Museum, the National Army Museum and RHS Chelsea, Hampton Court Palace and Tatton Park flower shows.

It was established 15 years ago by brothers Adrian and Ian Willson with funding from the Prince’s Trust.

It has twice been listed in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 companies and in 2011 won the Cost Sector Catering Event Caterer of the Year Award.

Adrian Willson said: "This is an exciting move for Creativevents and it will enable us to secure new growth for the company.

“We were won over by the amazing entrepreneurial ethos at MITIE. With MITIE's backing we will have the same resources as all of the bigger players and I am confident that we are well poised to grow our business further.

“Most importantly, we can invest in our team so that Creativevents can continue to develop stylish, high quality, high volume fresh food and drinks concepts with its same flair for innovation.”

MITIE is an FTSE 250 support services business employing more than 65,000 people with annual revenues of £2bn.
