Organic baby producer BabyDeli wins deal with Asda cafes

8th Jun 2010 - 00:00
Abstract
Organic baby food producer BabyDeli has secured a deal worth £0.25m with Asda in-store cafes.
The deal means that parents will be able to offer their little ones a selection of BabyDeli purees and meals. The Babydeli products will be available in 230 venues nationwide. Prices range from £1 to £1.50 Asda, who launched the new range as part of the redevelopment of their portfolio of cafes, will be listing meals suitable for 4+ months, 7+ months and 10+ months including 'Dylan's Scrumptious Scrumpy Chicken', 'Hetty's Special Spaghetti' and 'Auntie Anne's Sweet Sticky Pud-Pud'. Asda will be promoting the range using a combination of menus and instore and online communication in addition to linking in with the stores national Baby Week. Nicholl Coy, Asda Café's customer planning manager, commented: "Our new format cafes offer a better dining experience for all our customers whatever their age. Asda is the first retailer to offer parents who feed their babies out of home a menu of options, and BabyDeli offers babies a product that's made in kitchens just like mum does at home. "We subsidise the cost of the BabyDeli meals, so parents can make a selection that's both affordable and delicious – we're sure that the changes we've made to the cafes combined with the development of the food offer will mean a lot smiling babies (and their parents) in our cafes."
