Abstract
Hospitality charity Only A Pavement Away (OAPA) will join forces with technology company Zonal to launch the first Scottish Winter Warmth campaign in March.

Zonal volunteers will distribute clothing, sleeping bags and toiletries for the homeless in Scotland. The Winter Warmth campaign has proved successful in Brighton, London, Norwich and Manchester.

OAPA helps the homeless find employment in the hospitality industry. So far the hospitality charity has helped to place over 70 people into work and it aims to support a further 250 people in 2021.

Greg Mangham, founder of OAPA, said: “Our work is now more vital than ever, and as we have entered into tier 3 restrictions in cities like London, many more newly homeless are going to come from hospitality – these are our industry brothers and sisters and they need our help."

Zonal will also take a table at the OAPA Annual Cook and Dine fundraising event later in the year.

Stuart McLean, chief executive of Zonal, added: “After following Only A Pavement Away’s story for some time now, we became determined to lend our support, and everyone at Zonal is delighted that we will now be bringing Winter Warmth to Scotland this year to help those experiencing destitution.

“With the whole hospitality industry having taken such a hit in 2020, it’s fantastic to be collaborating with Only A Pavement Away who carry out such vital work.”
