The first charity jobs board of its kind geared specifically towards the hospitality sector, the Candidate Profile Page will serve as a conduit for charities looking to promote candidates for employment within the hospitality industry, and has been developed alongside Dawn Redman, founder of Hospitality Jobs UK and Nigel Brewer, founder of Cue Media.
The CPP will complement the already existent employer vacancy section and will be supported by an in-depth back office system, developed by Polaris systems.
Founder of Only A Pavement Away, Greg Mangham said: “The new Jobs Board will be integral to OAPA’s future growth strategy whilst playing a major role in helping the ever-increasing numbers of vulnerable people across the UK find careers in hospitality.
“The Board now has both the added value of the Candidate Profile Page where our charity partners can post their clients details for view to the employers and a more integrated back office system which will help us give greater support to our members.
“These changes will further strengthen the relationship between OAPA and the charities who represent our future members.
“While the industry continues to face uncertainty in the months ahead, we are now starting to receive vacancies from our employer partners as lockdown restrictions are lifted.
“As ever, I am extremely grateful for all the support and generous donations that we have continued to receive in recent months towards our various initiatives and I would like to thank Dawn and Nigel for all their expertise and guidance into making the new Candidate Profile Page possible.
“Once again, we are proving that hospitality isn’t just in the community, hospitality is the community and we have a pipeline of committed candidates waiting to join you.”
To access the Candidate Profile Page (CPP) and view prospective candidates, users will first need to register as either an Only A Pavement Away employment partner or charity, joining the likes of celebrity chef Judy Joo, catering firm Thomas Franks and The Ivy Collection, who have all pledged to support the charity in its work to help as many vulnerable individuals as possible out of destitution and back into employment, as government lockdown restrictions continue to be relaxed.
Joo said: “Ever since taking part in the Tom Aikens Charity Cookery Challenge this spring, I knew that Only A Pavement Away was a charity that I wanted to build a relationship with and I am delighted to have been appointed as an Employer Partner in recent weeks.
“Our people really are what make our industry great and I can’t wait to advise some exceptional candidates in the weeks and months to come after such a difficult period for everyone involved in hospitality.”
