The two-year project will see the One Retail team work with Noviniti to develop the main entrance, creating an extension which will house a new lecture theatre and retail space. To expand the retail offer, a new Marks and Spencer Food and The Stock Shop will open, plus a new Costa store.
Andrew Jones, managing director of One Retail, commented: “Having worked at the hospital for a number of years, we’re now excited to deliver expanded retail services at the hospital, to help patients, staff and visitors. The new front entrance will help to provide a new and warm welcome to all.”
One Retail, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, operates in retail sites across sectors such as healthcare, defence and instore.
Mark Orchard, chief financial officer at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, said: “This is a fantastic new development which will help improve the experience of those visiting our hospital site. This is another step in a number of significant improvements including improved green spaces around the site. These plans will help us continue to deliver high quality services in efficient, well-maintained and well-designed buildings.”
