Abstract
Office food orders on Just Eat for Business’s platform have risen by 25% over the last year, with vegan and vegetarian orders increasing by 15%, highlighting a shift towards more health-conscious food choices.

The half-year office food trends report by the workplace delivery specialist also found buffet and platter orders increased by 21%, indicating the growing importance workers now place on communal meals.

Matt Ephgrave, managing director at Just Eat for Business, said: “Our latest trends data clearly shows the vital role that food continues to play in the workplace, not just for sustenance but as a means to improve employee wellbeing and social dynamics.

“It’s exciting to see the growing trend towards typically healthier options, and workers’ desire to enjoy a diverse range of cuisines at the office, thanks to office food delivery platforms like ours.”

He said another trend highlighting the surge towards healthier food options could be observed, with restaurant partners such as Salad Kitchen receiving a 44% growth year-on-year in orders on the Just Eat for Business platform.

And Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays have emerged as the most popular days for office food deliveries, accounting for 72% of total orders.

Ephgrave said this rise in orders reflected a stronger midweek office attendance for UK employees, highlighting the popularity of hybrid workers using food to fuel them while they’re in the office.
