OCS catering operation ‘takes centre stage’ in Northern Ireland contract

International total facilities management (TFM) provider OCS has been awarded a contract to provide catering services in the Bar & Bistro at The Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre, Armagh, Northern Ireland.

The Bar & Bistro re-opened in July under OCS management. The new catering team have introduced new menus and the use of fresh, local produce for lunches, bistro meals, and pre-theatre dinners.

The catering team also operate a theatre coffee shop; a full bar service; weekend entertainment; and state-of-the-art facilities for meetings and conferences.

Jane Sheard, OCS chief executive for facilities services said: “This is a very high profile contract where our catering team has already welcomed the current president of the Republic of Ireland Michael Higgins and hosted a VIP reception.

“The venue is key to helping to attract visitors to Armagh, and we look forward to working in partnership with the theatre team to enhance the theatre experience of both local people and visitors to the area.”

Director of The Market Place Theatre Jill McEneaney added: “We are delighted to be working with OCS as we enter a new era for the bar and catering services here at The Market Place Theatre.

“The new Bar & Bistro is a key element of the overall theatre-going experience and one that audiences are already embracing whole-heartedly.

“Adding value is one of our key aims and this partnership will help us to achieve this. We know that customers are going to enjoy the catering choices that we now have on offer.”
