Abstract
Nutrition and Hydration Week highlights the importance of good nutrition within hospitals and care homes, with millions of people in the UK at risk of malnutrition.

According to the Nutrition and Hydration Week website, around three million people in the UK and over 25 million people in G8 countries (France, Germany, Italy, UK, Japan, US, Canada and Russia) are at risk of malnutrition.

Nutrition and Hydration Week reaches out to health and social care professionals in clinical, nursing, catering and care situations, utilising their expertise to ‘bring this campaign to life’.

Malnutrition is defined as a serious condition that happens when your diet does not contain the right amount of nutrients. If you’re not getting enough nutrition it can cause fatigue, feeling weak and weight loss.

Preventing malnutrition and dehydration improves health and wellbeing, along with reducing the burden on health and social care services.

The Nutrition and Hydration Week website provides recipes to use for the Global Tea Party taking place on 18 March.

Different communities taking part this week will be holding tea parties for their organisations to show their commitment to the cause as well as to help people improve their nutrition.

Share photos of your tea party on Twitter using the #NHW2020. Hospital or care home caterers can download the recipe document below.
