Abstract
With specialty coffee continuing to drive growth in the UK coffee sector, Notes Coffee Roasters, says it offers a ‘premium end-to-end solution’ to help caterers add value, drive margins and bring the quality of their coffee offer in line with high food and service standards.

Research by Allegra Strategies shows that the speciality coffee segment (coffees that score 80 or above on a 100 point scale) is expected to grow 13% year-on-year, outperforming the 10% growth predicted for the UK coffee market as a whole. Specialty now accounts for around 15% of all coffee served out-of-home.

Ali Anderson, sales manager at Notes Coffee, said: “We support group and independent operators across all catering sectors in making the coffee service an extension of the culinary skills that they have in the business.

“That starts with the quality of our specialty coffees and product, but is only made possible thanks to the passion and expertise we have within the business.

“Peoples’ tastes are more discerning than ever before and if the quality of the whole coffee offer isn’t good enough, they will remember it.

“With Notes, our customers can have confidence in the quality, ethics and sustainability of the coffee – backed by training opportunities to make sure their staff have the information and skills they need to serve it with excellence.”

He says that single origin Arabica coffees are curated by Notes’ experts, direct sourced only in-season, from farms in some of the most exciting coffee-growing countries in the world including Myanmar, Honduras, Brazil, Ethiopia and Yemen, the birthplace of coffee.

“This is made possible thanks to the direct relationships built with farmers worldwide, driven by a passion for true ethical and traceable coffee sourcing – not just sustainability box-ticking.”

Notes offers beans or ground coffee in 250g and 1kg bags, as well as home compostable pods, which are Nespresso compatible. All Notes coffees are minimum 84 points on the specialty grading scale.

In addition, Notes offers a 12-month programme of seasonal and guest coffees for its wholesale customers with added value, comprehensive training support, taking advantage of the brand’s own premium coffee shops in London, to help customers develop a winning proposition.

Notes roasts 2,000kg of coffee each week at its Blackwall roastery in East London for sale on retail and wholesale markets and for its own chain of 12 café bars across London.
