Nomination deadline approaching for Public Sector Catering Awards
Abstract
Individuals, teams and organisations have just over one week to send in their nominations for the Public Sector Catering Awards, which aim to celebrate excellence across the whole sector in schools, hospitals, care homes, universities, the armed forces, prisons and catering colleges as well as those operating in a contract catering environment.

There are 17 award categories open for nomination as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award and Armed Forces Caterer of the Year Award that will be presented on the night. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 24th April 2025 at the London Hilton Metropole.

The nomination deadline was extended until Friday 14th February to give people more time to enter. Luke Consiglio is managing director of The Pantry Catering Ltd who won the Contract Caterer of the Year award in 2023.

Speaking about the Awards, he said: “Awards are just the recognition the team needs. Celebrating the great job they do through awards - external and internal - can help them feel proud of their work and what they have achieved.”

In the Contract Caterer of the Year Award, judges are looking for contractors that have excelled in all the important areas of commercial activity.

This may include outstanding business performance, the successful move into new sectors, the introduction of education and training schemes, the development of new concepts and value-added support and delivering improvements in health and wellbeing.

The 2025 PSC Awards are sponsored by Brakes, Bidfood, Cereal Partners, Essential Cuisine, Ecolog, Middleton Foods, Rational, Panasonic, Premier Foodservice, Unilever Food Solutions, Unox, The TUCO Foundation and Wafflemeister.

For the Marketing Award judges are looking for a marketing initiative or sustained campaign by an individual, team, or organisation working for an outsourced or in-house operation that has proved successful and exceeded expectations.

Immediate past chair of TUCO Phil Rees-Jones added: “Winning a Public Sector Catering Award is a prestigious industry accolade and by nominating a colleague or peer for an award, you are acknowledging their dedication to this industry.

“If you know someone deserving of such an honour, you shouldn’t think twice about the impact that nominating them can have on their morale, motivation and career progression. The last few years have been unprecedented for our industry, and there’s never been an more important time to recognise those who have gone above and beyond in their roles.”

In the University Catering Award, judges are looking for an individual, team, or organisation that has had a major influence on the provision of foodservice to students and/or the development of commercial catering operations in a university.
