The Chef’s Academy programme invites hospital chefs to take part in free training, watch live demonstrations and the opportunity to network with their peers. The sessions are designed to ‘inspire innovation and professional development’ amongst NHS chefs and catering staff.
Attendees are expected to turn up ready to learn and to cook new dishes, mentored by the culinary team. Attendance can also count towards any chef currently undertaking a NHS chef apprenticeship. The next Chef’s Academy will take place on:
- Wednesday 15 November 2023, 8:30am – 3pm at The Food Works, Bristol
- Wednesday 22 November 2023, 9am – 3pm at Cobbs at The Farm, Stratford-upon-Avon
Nick Vadis, culinary ambassador in the NHS Supply Chain: Food team, said: “I’m passionate about food and want to support the growth of catering teams in NHS trusts across the country. We’ve seen such success so far with the Chef’s Academy and attendees leaving feeling inspired, with new skills and new ideas, as well as a bank of recipes they can take straight back to their kitchen.”
