Global catering company Newrest has won a brand new 10-year contract with British Airways, to serve approximately 70 flights per day from Gatwick Airport.
Launching in 2020, French-based Newrest said the win will ‘significantly strengthen’ the company’s presence in the UK, as it now runs operations in nine stations including Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham an Glasgow.
As part of the contract, Newrest, which will serve 15 long-haul and 55 short-haul BA flights each day from Gatwick, is investing in a new ‘state of the art’ catering facility at the airport (set to open in Q3 2019).
Co chief executives, Olivier Sadran and Jonathan Stent-Torriani, said: “Our UK team has proven results in delivering smooth and seamless catering transitions and operational excellence.
“We are committed to providing BA’s customers innovative, top quality products and services from our new Gatwick facility.”
