These new awards have been organised by MIDAS (Menu Innovation & Development Awards) in collaboration with University Hospitality Seminars (UHS). Award categories include sustainability, innovation, street food and cafe concepts.
David McKown, director of UHS, commented: “This initiative is unique since it allows for university caterers to network and learn from a range of industry specialists and then submit their entry in one of the categorises.”
The seminar will be chaired by Keith Warren, chief executive from the FSA. Other speakers include:
- David Mulcahy, food innovation & sustainability director of schools & universities at Sodexo
- Karl Pendlebury, knowledge exchange manager at the AHDB
- John Feeney, culinary and innovation director Europe & Africa at Griffith Foods
The awards will be presented at a networking event and dinner to be held on 16 June. Winners will embark on a European Food Study Tour. For further information email: information@universityhospitality.co.uk
