Abstract
Kevin Briggs has been appointed as product manager for Fretwell-Downing Hospitality (FDH) following the company’s acquisition of touch screen operator Xpress Ordering.
Kevin, as one of the founders of Xpress Ordering, brings with him vast technical and market experience in the touch screen self-service kiosk sector, and will be responsible for developing existing and new markets for the product within the hospitality sector. As part of the acquisition process, FDH is also re-branding the Xpress Ordering products under the Saffron banner, including Deli Xpress which will now be known as Saffron Xpress. The technology enables customers to order and pay for food either online via the web while sitting in front of their pc or laptop, or at a touch screen terminal, without having to queue at a till. Commenting on his appointment Kevin said: "I am delighted to be joining FDH at such an exciting time as there is huge potential for the touch screen technology in the restaurant and catering environments where operators are looking to minimise queues to improve the customer experience. "The systems also offer the potential to provide more information such as nutritional data at the point of ordering, which would be in-line with the Food Standards Agency's intentions for calorie labelling; and to gather customer feedback." Andrew Markwell, FDH's sales director added: "We welcome Kevin on-board as he brings with him the comprehensive experience and knowledge that will be extremely valuable to customers as we move forward."
